In this Privacy Policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Visible Chain Technologies Private Limited, and "you" and "your" refer to users of the Digital Vaikuntha application. This policy explains what personal data the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the rights you hold over it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what the app's features actually need.

Mobile phone number	Required to create an account. It is your identity in the app and is verified by a one-time password (OTP) sent over SMS.
Name (first, middle, last)	Part of the devotee registration record.
Date of birth and gender	Collected during devotee registration to maintain the community membership register.
Samashrayanam date and spiritual name (thirunamam)	Optional. Provided by devotees who have received samashrayanam, for the membership register.
Postal address (address lines, city, PIN, state, country)	Optional, entered during registration. This is address text you type — the app does not read GPS or device location.
Additional contacts (alternate mobile, email)	Optional, so the community can reach you. The alternate number is not OTP-verified.
Profile photo	Optional. You pick an existing image from your device's photo library; it is uploaded to our media storage and shown as your avatar.
Feedback messages	Any feedback or support message you choose to send us.
Preferences	Your app language (English or Hindi) and whether you want festival and event reminders.

Information collected automatically

Data	Why
Push notification token	A device identifier issued by the notification service so we can deliver event and announcement updates — only if you allow notifications.
Platform (Android / iOS)	Stored alongside your push token to route notifications correctly.
Session and OTP records	Needed to keep you signed in and to verify OTPs. OTP codes are stored only as a one-way hash and session tokens only as a hash — the raw values are never kept on our servers.
Activity within the app	Items you add to your cart and a record of your seva, donation and order activity, shown back to you in your Profile.
Server and security logs	Request and error logs generated by our infrastructure, used to keep the service running and to detect abuse.

What we do not collect

Digital Vaikuntha does not collect GPS or precise location, does not access your camera, microphone, contacts or calendar, does not collect biometric data or advertising identifiers, and does not store payment card details, UPI PINs or bank credentials on our servers. We do not run third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking SDKs.

3. How we use your information

Phone number — to verify your identity via OTP, to keep you signed in, and to send account-related messages.
Registration details (name, date of birth, gender, samashrayanam details, address, contacts) — to maintain the devotee membership register and to identify you within the community.
Profile photo — to display your avatar in the app.
Preferences — to show the app in your chosen language and to respect your notification choices.
Activity and cart data — to provide the app's features: events, announcements, gallery, knowledge, e-books, audio, video, shop, seva and donations — and to show you your own history.
Push token — to deliver festival, event and announcement notifications you have opted in to.
Feedback and communications — to answer your questions and resolve support requests.
Server and security logs — to diagnose faults, keep the service available, and protect it against misuse.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or automated decision-making, and we do not sell it.

4. Third-party services

We share personal data only with the service providers strictly needed to operate the app, and only to the extent each one needs:

We require every third-party processor to handle your data only as instructed by us and in compliance with applicable data protection law. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and our service.

5. Data security

Encryption in transit — all communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS.
Encryption at rest — data stored on our cloud infrastructure is encrypted at rest by the platform provider.
Hashed secrets — OTP codes and session tokens are stored only as cryptographic (SHA-256) hashes; the raw values never persist on our servers.
Access controls — access to personal data is limited to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis, enforced by role-based permissions in our admin console.
Security log retention — security and access logs are retained for a minimum of 365 days, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention and deletion

Retention periods

Account and registration data — retained for as long as your account is active.
OTP records — short-lived; each code expires within minutes and is single-use.
Sessions — removed when they expire or when you sign out.
Security logs — 365 days (1 year), as required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.
After deletion — we may retain limited records for up to 90 days where needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or prevent fraud.

How to delete your account

In the app — open Digital Vaikuntha → go to the Profile tab → tap Delete account → confirm. Your account and data are deleted immediately.
On the web — follow the instructions at api.digitalvaikuntha.com/delete-account.
By email — write to visiblechain@songpoem.com from your registered contact, or include the phone number on your account.

Deletion requests received by email are processed within 30 days. On deletion your profile, sessions, push tokens, cart and activity records are removed; feedback you submitted may be retained in anonymised form, disassociated from your account.

7. Your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

Consent

By creating an account and using Digital Vaikuntha, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to the provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal, and may mean parts of the app can no longer function.

Your rights as a Data Principal

Right to access — obtain a summary of the personal data we process about you and the processing activities undertaken.
Right to correction — have inaccurate or misleading data corrected and incomplete data completed. Most fields can be edited directly in the app's Profile screen.
Right to erasure — have your personal data erased when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for.
Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time through in-app settings or by contacting us.
Right to grievance redressal — raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see section 9).
Right to nominate — nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

Response timeline

We respond to requests within 90 days of receipt, as stipulated under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Data Protection Board

If you are not satisfied with our response to your grievance, you may file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India, established under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

8. Children's data

Digital Vaikuntha is intended for a general devotee audience and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18, and we do not carry out tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at visiblechain@songpoem.com.

In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address concerns about how your data is processed:

10. Device permissions

The app requests only the following permissions:

Photo library (read) — only when you choose to set a profile photo, so you can pick an image. We do not scan or upload your other photos.
Photos / media (save) — only when you tap to download an image or wallpaper, to save it to your device gallery.
Notifications — to deliver the festival, event and announcement updates you opt in to.
Internet — to sync content with our servers.

The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, SMS-reading or location permissions.

11. Data safety alignment

This Privacy Policy is aligned with the Data Safety declaration submitted for Digital Vaikuntha on the Google Play Store and the Privacy Nutrition Label on the Apple App Store. If you notice any discrepancy between this policy and those declarations, please contact us so we can correct it promptly.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you through the app or the contact details you have provided. Your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
